Kindergarten - High School
BALLET/TAP I – Introduces the basic steps of ballet and tap.
BALLET/TAP II – Develops the skills learned in Ballet/Tap l.
BALLET I/II – Concentration on strength and turn out. Skills, terminology and technique strongly focused on.
BALLET II/III – Continued classical training introducing intricate center work within the Graded Ballet Syllabus.
BALLET lV – Continued classical training encouraging gradual strengthening of ballet technique within the Graded Ballet Syllabus.
ADVANCED BALLET – 14 yrs old: Prerequisite completion of 4 years of ballet. Student will continue the gradual strengthening classical ballet technique.
POINTE I/II – Student will strengthen and develop the muscle groups needed to support the body in Pointe while focusing on proper Pointe technique.
ADVANCED BALLET – 14 yrs old: Prerequisite completion of 4 years of ballet. Student will continue the gradual strengthening classical ballet technique.
MODERN – An expressive form of dance. Based on the philosophies of Graham, Horton, Hawkins and Brown techniques. Classes are designed to encourage a strong foundation in this dance form with an emphasis on individual expression.
CONTEMPORARY – Classical ballet technique and form performed to Contemporary/Jazz music. Modern technique maybe incorporated.
LYRICAL – A form of dance that incorporates the interpretation of the lyrics of a song or the lyrical quality of the music through movement. This may combine the techniques of modern dance, ballet and jazz and is usually performed in a slow temp or ballet style of music.
JAZZ – Ballet is the basis of jazz. The class warms up and isolates muscles and emphasizes studying balance, strength and rhythm toward free expressive movement. Classes include barre, center floor progressions and floor work. Intro Jazz/Hip Hop, Jazz/Hip Hop I, II and III,Intermediate/ Advanced Jazz, Jazz Ensemble.
TAP – Tap emphasizes rhythm coordination and musicality. Classes include exercises, barre, center techniques, across the floor progressions, dance combinations/routines. Classes offered build upon each other in technique. Tap I, II, and III, Advanced Tap.
MUSICAL THEATER – Founded on Jazz technique with focus on performing on Broadway.
DANCE TROUPE – Members 5 years and older perform at the recital and represent the Studio at benefits and public events throughout the year. Interested students should ask their teachers for details.
DANCE CORPS – Students 10 years and older are invited to audition for this special performance group.
JUNIOR ENSEMBLE – Accomplished dancers 13 years and older may audition to represent the Studio at recital, competitions and special events.
ENSEMBLE – Accomplished dancers 14 years and older may audition for this performance group to represent the studio at recital,competitions and special events.
