Fitness Class Descriptions:
Barre Fitness: Interested in achieving a dancer's physique without having to learn choreography? Sculpt your way to a ballerina body in this class! Classes feature exercises using the ballet barre that will tone your legs, lift your glutes, and strengthen your upper body and core. The class ends with a stretch to help you relax and to lengthen your muscles.
Yoga: A series of poses designed to help the participant focus on breath control and mindfulness while promoting flexibility. Class ends with a guided meditation for relaxation.
Power Vinyasa: Take your Yoga flow to the next level! Flow each week to a new, rocking playlist with this strong flow class.
Pound: POUND® is the world’s first cardio jam session inspired by the infectious, energizing and sweat-dripping fun of playing the drums.
Cardio Strength: Focuses on a cardio warm-up, strength training with dumbbells and resistance bands, ending with a stretch. This class is a little bit of everything!
Strength & Stretch: Class will entail some light cardio and body weight exercises for 15 minutes followed by a 15 min deep, relaxing stretch. A great way to end a long work day!
Zumba: Ditch the workout, join the party! Zumba is back at Positions. This Latin-inspired, cardio dance class is open to new or experienced exercisers, Seniors, Baby-wearers, etc.
Chair Yoga: Chair yoga is a gentle practice in which postures are performed while seated and/or with the aid of a chair. It is a great form of yoga for beginners, for those who want to focus on a gentle practice, and for those who may find a typical yoga session too challenging. Chair Yoga will incorporate aspects of Hatha yoga (using the breath) and is particularly helpful for those with balance issues or who may have difficulty getting down and up from the floor.
Slow Burn: Class is a low-impact sculpt class using light weights, body weight, and resistance bands. A great full-body workout perfect for all fitness levels!
Pilates for Everybody: Pilates is a series of exercises designed to strengthen and lengthen the core muscles. Our core muscles are responsible for our posture and spinal health, especially as we age! Pilates for Everybody introduces these exercises in a way that is accessible for ALL - from the very beginner through more intermediate and advanced students.
